Date: Sundays Aug 5 and 12( always first and second Sundays of the month)

We are here to help you cope with rainy days!
At our last opening in June, there were 7 umbrella repairs to mend holes in the fabric, re-attach the fabric to the spokes and reinforcing the bent spokes with some of our spare.

In April a visitor came with a broken exercise resistance band and malfunctioning Stanley knife sliding mechanism. Please read  her comments below:

“Matt fixed it by reinstating the rubber parts in the handle hence restoring the aesthetics. With even more lateral thinking and diligently fiddling with his pliers and lighter, he magically restored my resistance band to its former glory by attaching the broken handle.” “My stanley knife sliding mechanism was also restored by Greg who, when asked, very humbly said he could not explain how he fixed it – thank you Greg!” “I also had some good chats with a few new attendees at the event. It is great that the Repair Cafe is connecting people this way. “

Repair Café Sydney North Workshop- Kids welcome (but not essential) Workshop

Come along to this FREE all ages workshop and
LEARN TO MAKE DECORATIVE BOXES
using recycled materials. The boxes make great gifts or can be used to organise your home. Bring spare magazines and boxes from home.

Repair Café Sydney North was declared officially open by Lane Cove Mayor Pam Palmer at our new venue on 180 Longueville Road on Feb 11. It was indeed a very special occasion with Mayor Palmer bringing along her mayoral chain for fixing! We appreciate deeply the Mayor’s trust in the skills of our repairer Glenda Hoy. And Glenda got it fixed!!

Photos below showed Glenda hard at work fixing the Mayoral chain and a triumphant Glenda proudly showing the fixed precious item Mayor Palmer had so graciously brought along for repair.
